#2 :: FOR THE NEW MERICAN NOVEMBER

This months mixtape is decidedly somber and Fall-like but not without its moments of resolve and rebellion.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Song: Monkey .................. Artist: Low
A song from their upcoming release. A perfect somber beginning to this particular November.

Song: Neighborhood #2 (Laika) .................. Artist: Arcade Fire
A song that sounds like it should have been in Amelie. Moody and beautiful.

Song: Leaf House .................. Artist: Animal Collective
This is folk music for a media saturated generation. Totally schizophrenic and totally enthralling.

Song: Belleville Rendez-Vous .................. Artist: BenoƮt Charest
From the Triplets of Belleville. A shout out to our French friends. Danceable and brilliant.

Song: Killing an Arab .................. Artist: Cure
An obvious reminder of what America has come to stand for.

Song: All Good Naysayers, Speakup! or Forever.................. Artist: Sufjan Stevens
Another song that just sounds like Fall. So good.

Song: Three Days Four Nights .................. Artist: Castanets
Funeralesque pop to lament over. It will take weeks to recover from this loss.

Song: Go to Hell .................. Artist: Nina Simone
She says it all. Now we go to hell.

Song: Hold On .................. Artist: John Lennon
Hang on friends. Everything is gonna be all right.

Song: I Won't Back Down .................. Artist: Johnny Cash
A reminder that we need not succumb to defeat but reaffirm our resolve.
