* I freely admit that this is probably a violation of artistic copyright. I put together these mix "tapes" as way to share great music in a way that encourages artist support and utilizes grassroots promotion by purposefully violating those copyrights. I would like to imagine that no artist in their right mind would oppose such altruistic intentions despite its bureaucratic insubordinance. On that note, I admittedly steer clear of "major label" artists because 1 they don't deserve anymore attention than the mechanisms they subscribe to already provide and 2 they are more likely to be circled by litigious sharks.

Hey friends, welcome to the NEIMT. Every month you will find a thematic collection of 20 songs that I have lovingly curated for your enjoyment. I focus on all kinds of music, loud and soft, serious and fun, new and old. This is an attempt to keep a great tradition of mix tape music sharing alive while taking advantage of the awesomeness of digital distribution. Copyright issues be damned*.

For my returning visitors, you may have noticed that the NEIMT has relaunched with a new look for the new year and even a new dedicated URL. Getting more buttoned up every day. If you enjoy the work, then please feel free to tell your friends and spread the word about this little project. A post on your blog (if you have one and I know you do) would always be appreciated as well.

Also note that last years mixes will not appear on the front page anymore, but they can be accessed via the archive links below. I will do my best to keep most of the mix still available for download but I can't always promise.
